Typography 2: Grid Structure

01/17/20

Class activity today had us go online (or look at a book) and find two images. One from Swiss or International Style, and one from Contemporary design. Both of which would use a grid. From that point, we were to use InDesign to create the grid and overlay it on top of the image.

The idea behind this was that it would help us not only get used to making a grid but also to use our eyes to determine the amount of modules that are in use.

The Swiss/International Style grid is a classic modular styled grid.

The Contemporary example should use the same modular examples (varying in the amount), but on top of this it needs to use Activated Modules.

This was a great opportunity to explore grid making and how to find the grids in spreads.
